What is Chart Hitz New Zealand?
Chart Hitz New Zealand is New Zealand's official online chart.  Our chart is decided by our users voting for their favourite song(s) each week from our voting form which they access through the username and password sent to them each week.  Because of this, our chart is solely based on the internet, not a mixture of sales and radio airplay as the New Zealand Singles Chart is.  That is what makes Chart Hitz NZ better than any other chart in New Zealand.

So who can become a member?
Our chart has been designed so that every person with an internet connection in New Zealand has the same chance of their favourite song(s) ranking highly.  We control this by only allowing people in New Zealand to vote by asking them a question about a high profile news item.  This verifies if they actually are living in New Zealand.  We also allow people to vote for as many of the songs in the voting form as they like but we restrict them to submitting the form only once.  A new voting form is issued each every week.

What if I don't live in New Zealand?
If you don't live in New Zealand you may join the international members email list.  As a member of this you will receive an email containing the "Featured Track Of The Week", "New Releases On Sale" and "Up & Coming Songs".  Also you will receive each month (or every second month depending on the amount of news there is) a newsletter filled with info on Kiwi bands, tours, future expansion of the site, etc.

Is membership free?
Yes.  It is and always will be totally free.  If you are currently living in New Zealand then click here to join.  If you live outside New Zealand then click here to join.

Are there any Terms and Conditions I should know about before I join?
Yes there are.  They can be found at http://charthitz.net.nz/Terms_And_Conditions.html.  You must acknowledge that you have read them by placing a tick in the checkbox on the signup form before submitting your application.

How do I know that my privacy will be protected?
We have a strict Privacy Policy which can be found at http://charthitz.net.nz/Privacy_Policy.html.

What will happen after I submit my application?
Your application will be reviewed and you will receive a response within 48 hours informing you whether you have been accepted or reason(s) why you need to resubmit your application.

I am having problems signing up.  What should I do?
If you DO NOT receive an email from us after 48 hours of submitting the sign up form please either come back to the site and try again or if you are repeatedly experiencing this problem please email webmaster@charthitz.zzn.com and note the dates and times you tried subscribing.
If the sign up form will not submit for you or you receive an error message then please email webmaster@charthitz.zzn.com and note the dates and times you tried subscribing plus the browser you are using (eg.IE5.5, IE6.0) and your operating system (eg.Windows XP/98/98SE, Linux).

Do you know where I can find other New Zealand Music Charts?
The New Zealand Singles, Albums, and Compilation Albums Charts can be found at www.top50.co.nz.  These are produced by RIANZ (Recording Industry Association of New Zealand) and we have no control over them so please direct any questions about those charts to them.
The New Zealand Radio Air-Play Charts can be found at www.medianstrip.com.  Any questions about these charts should be directed to the webmaster of medianstrip.
